Amazon says sellers using its VAT Transactions Report will be able to request reports during the current month starting November 3. Its October 26 announcement in the United Kingdom seller forum describes earlier access to transaction records, with data available through three days before the request.
An in-month report will not be a real-time or final record. Amazon says sellers can request the same reporting period again as additional data becomes available.
Earlier access, with a three-day lag
The announced change removes the need to wait until the third day of the following month to request the report. That can give sellers an earlier opportunity to review transaction records and investigate discrepancies before month-end. It does not mean that the report contains every transaction through the day it is downloaded.
Repeated requests for the same period may produce different results as records arrive or change. For reconciliation, retaining the request date alongside each download will help distinguish an earlier version from a later one.
Two fields to check in your reporting process
Amazon says the report will include TRANSACTION_UPDATED_DATE to identify transactions that have changed. Sellers or reporting providers that compare successive downloads can use that field to check updated records rather than assuming an earlier export is unchanged.
The second field, GOV_INVOICE_ID, will contain government invoice identifiers only for Poland KSeF transactions. Amazon says support for other countries is planned later. The announcement does not establish a date for those additional countries.
What to verify when access begins
Check whether the in-month option is available in your own account after the announced November 3 start. If another system imports your VAT report, confirm that it handles the added fields and can reconcile revised records without counting the same transaction twice.
Keep the original download when requesting a later version for the same period. Compare changed transactions before replacing figures in your reconciliation records. These are reporting-workflow precautions, not confirmation that an earlier or later export is complete for a tax filing.
